Production data relating to conveyor accumulation calculator

What this calculator does

The calculation estimates a starting capacity. Confirm it with real product handling, usable conveyor density and stop interaction.

How the calculation works

Required units = net incoming rate × stop time × margin. Conveyor length uses entered pitch and lanes. Recovery time uses recovery rate above upstream rate.

Use consistent boundaries: compare scenarios with the same product, pack, time period, cost basis and definition of a good unit.

Use the result to review

  • Required accumulation units
  • Estimated usable conveyor length
  • Recovery time
  • Net accumulation rate

Validate the entered assumptions against production records before using the result in an investment, compliance or capacity decision.

Questions customers also ask

Is all conveyor length usable?
No. Allow for sensors, transfers, curves, spacing and control zones.
Can flexible packs use the same pitch calculation?
Only after the accumulation method and actual pack behaviour are tested.
What if recovery rate does not exceed incoming rate?
The buffer cannot empty while normal production continues.
Does this replace a line simulation?
No. Complex stop interactions and multiple buffers may need simulation or measured trials.
